Chocolate Cake With Broiled Coconut Frosting Recipe

All purpose flour (2c), lightly beaten egg (1), vanilla extract (1 1/2tsp), sour milk or buttermilk (1 1/4c), safflower oil or canola oil (1/2c), salt (1/2tsp), baking soda (1 1/2tsp), unsweetened cocoa (1/2c), granulated sugar (1 1/4c).
For Topping:- Evaporated milk or half and half (4tbsp), sweetened flaked coconut (2/3c), chopped pecans (1/2c), light brown sugar, packed (1/3c), butter (6tbsp).
Method of preparation:-
First heat the oven to 350 degrees F. Take a square baking pan of 9 inch, oiled and floured it. Take a mixing bowl, mix flour, baking soda, cocoa, salt and granulated sugar in it. Then add beaten egg, vanilla, buttermilk and oil in it. Slowly beat this mixture until it gets well blended. Pour the mixture into the greased and floured pan. Place the pan in oven and bake it for about 35 to 40 minutes. Take a small bowl, mix evaporated milk, flaked coconuts, pecans, brown sugar and butter in it. Stir the mixture until it gets well blended. Then spread this mixture over the warm cake and broil about 4 inches from the heat for about 3 minutes until the topping gets bubbly and changes to brown color.
