Soft salted butter (180gms), caster sugar (150gms), strong flour (120+40gms), salt (a pinch), egg yolks (3+1 for egg wash).
Method of preparation:-
First heat the oven to 180 degrees C or 356 degrees F. Take a large bowl, put flour in it and make a small well in the center if it. Put egg yolks, salt and soft butter in it. Mix all these ingredients with your hands. Add more 40 gms of flour in it while kneading the dough and form a ball of dough. Then keep it aside for a while. Then roll out the dough to 1/8-inch thickness. Place the rolled dough in a round sponge cake mould. To prepare egg wash, take a small bowl, mix 1 egg yolk in 1tablespoon of cold water. Then brush the cake with the egg wash. With fork, draw some diamonds on the surface of dough. Now place it in oven and cook it for about 20 to 25 minutes until the tip of knife insert in the cake comes out clean and hot. Take out the cake mould from oven and keep it for about 15 minutes and then remove it from the mould. Cool it and then enjoy it.
