All purpose flour (5tbsp), white sugar (1/2c), beaten egg yolks (2), water (1c), shortening (1/2c), vanilla extract (1tsp), milk (2c), salt (1pinch), all purpose flour (1c), eggs (4) and salt (a pinch).
Method of preparation:-
For Custard:- Take a saucepan, mix 5 tablespoon of flour, a pinch of salt and ½ cup of sugar in it. Add milk a little at a time in it and mix it until the mixture becomes smooth. Then keep it to boil by stirring regularly over medium heat. Keep it to boil for about 60 seconds and then pour a small amount of it into the two egg yolks and mix it. Then place the heated egg yolks in saucepan and mix it over heat until the bubbles appear in the mixture. Now take off the pan from heat and add vanilla in it. Cover it and keep it to chill in the refrigerator.
For the Pastry:- First heat the oven to 350 degrees F or 230 degrees C. Take a saucepan of medium size, add water and mix shortening in it. Keep it to boil. Sieve 1 cup of flour and a pinch of salt and then p[our this mixture at once into the boiling mixture. Mix it briskly to for a ball of this mixture. Then take off the pan from heat and add eggs one by one. Beat it briskly after each addition of egg. Place spoonful of this mixture on the baking sheet. Place the sheet in oven and bake it for about 10 minutes at 450 degrees F. then turn down the heat to 400 degrees F and bake it for about 25 minutes until it changes to golden color. Keep it to cool completely. Divide and fill it with custard and then replace the tops.
